The average wedding today costs about $22,000. Why not save the money (and the hassle) by booking a San Antonio Texas wedding “on the fly” at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, where the resort’s carefully thought-out Elopement Package is the cure for all wedding woes?

Whether the bride is searching for a small, intimate wedding for 30 or envisions her big day with just the bride and groom in attendance, the resort has all the tiny details planned and ready so last-minute doesn’t have to be anything less than perfect.

The San Antonio resort’s new “Just the Two of Us” package features:

  • A ceremony at the Sunday House, a private two-story guest residence in the intimate gated back yard or front lawn
  • The officiate
  • 90 minutes of continuous photography coverage with one photographer
  • A bridal up-do and make-up application at the world class Windflower-The Hill Country Spa
  • A bridal bouquet in bride’s choice of colors and boutonnière for the groom
  • A wedding cake with matching floral topper
  • A Champagne toast and wedding coordination by the resorts in-house professional wedding specialist
  • A private epicurean dinner prepared by executive chef, Troy Knap, in the Sunday House dining room An overnight stay at Sunday House

The total cost is $4,200 plus tax, which, in my opinion is an absolute steal!

If a slightly larger ceremony is envisioned, the resort also offers an “Intimate Ceremony Elopement Package” for your San Antonio Texas wedding. This package is available for up to 18 guests, including the bride and groom. Included in the $1,500 fee is a spectacular outdoor ceremony at the iconic Lone Oak, overlooking the Hill Country Golf Course, as well as set-up of standard white resin chairs.

No matter the type of ceremony selected, the wedding professionals at the San Antonio resort can assist with any additional touches the bride has her heart set on.

Whether they’re over-the-top, small family gatherings, or a quick trip to Vegas, weddings are always memorable. To celebrate one of life’s most momentous occasions, Gaylord Hotels is launching a Most Memorable Weddings Sweepstakes.

Sometimes the best part of a wedding day is planned and sometimes a surprise becomes the ultimate memory of the day; whether it’s a perfect sunset, a dance routine down the aisle, or the hilarious best man’s speech. With Gaylord Hotels’ new Most Memorable Weddings Sweepstakes, anyone can log on to share and enjoy wedding memories through the eyes of the bride, groom, flower girl, or even the wedding officiant.

From now through October 31, 2010, everyone is encouraged to visit www.mostmemorableweddings.com and post photos, stories and/or videos of their favorite wedding memories for a chance to win a getaway for two to a Gaylord Hotels resort.

“The thing about weddings is that no matter how hard you plan, the most memorable moments are usually the unplanned ones,” said Amy A. Atkinson, vice president of leisure marketing and public relations for Gaylord Hotels. “As experts in hosting and executing these occasions, we have learned from experience that what makes weddings really special are these situations. And since we can all relate, either as a participant or a guest, we’ve created a forum for everyone to share their stories.”

The winning entry, which will be randomly chosen, will be awarded a Grand Prize trip for two to one of the four Gaylord Hotels, located in or near some of the country’s most desirable destinations, including Washington, D.C., Orlando, Nashville and Dallas.

The sweepstakes prize includes two nights’ accommodations, daily breakfast buffet, one spa treatment per person at Relâche Spa and roundtrip coach air on Southwest Airlines.

Ah Spring. It’s a time of blooming bluebonnets, Texas thunderstorms, and crazy people, specifically prom obsessed teens and soon-to-be June brides. And while some of us arrived at prom in a beat up Pinto and departed our wedding in a Toyota Maxtrix (the non-lethal issue), for others nothing says prom and grand Texas wedding better than a fleet of limos. So considering it’s officially the prom/wedding season, I decided to call Don Hammond at Premier Transportation to get the skinny on all things chauffeured.

Since 1996, Premier Transportation has been serving the Dallas area and beyond with award-winning service. From being named the 2009 National Operator of the Year from Limousine, Charter & Tour Magazine to The Knot’s Best Weddings of 2009 for Best Transportation, Premier makes getting around in style – no matter your destination – a breeze.

And though Don agreed that weddings are prom were big business for the company and patiently gave me the scoop on all their limo packages – very affordable, I might add – he reminded me that there’s a lot more to the transportation business than prom nights and weddings.

With a fleet of over two dozen Town Cars, executive SUVs and mini coaches, Premier does a bang up trade carting travelers, corporate executives and potential hires around Dallas. While this may sound like a luxury in these learner times, I’ll tell you from experience that using a car service, even if you’re only going to the airport, over a taxi service is hands down worth what only amounts to around an extra ten bucks. Not only do you have someone to help you with your bags, 99 times out of 100 you end up at your destination considerably faster. In fact, often you’ll find that using a car service saves you money. Consider this: Last year I used a car service to get to DFW. I was greeted by a very nice driver who helped me with my bags and had a nice, cold bottle of water waiting for me inside the Town Car, and when I arrived at my destination 40 minutes later, he checked my bags for me. Total cost: $50 with tip. Coming back from my trip, I took a taxi from DFW back to my home in East Dallas. The driver didn’t help me with my luggage, well, he did kindly pop the trunk for me. After refusing to follow my directions, a little over an hour later he finally deposited me at home and promptly asked for $65 before tip – which I didn’t give him. But I digress…

Another thing I learned from talking with Hammond was that Premier also offers party buses and four unique limo buses for tooling about the town safely for any occasion, be it bachelor or bachelorette parties, Sweet Sixteen Soirees or if you and a group of friends just want to get a little wacky on weekend night.

So whether you’re looking for an alternative to the inanity that’s becoming the cabbie situation in Dallas, want to do a little something special for the one you love, rolling up in style for a concert or game, or you’re planning a wedding or prom night, Premier is there to help with their fleet of beautiful cars and great online deals. Premier is also more than happy to take care of you everyplace you travel with their affiliate network. Use their site to get quotes, check out their full fleet and take advantage of their great deals… like this one:
