Yogilicious

Uptown Dallas and trendy go together like vanilla and chocolate in a frozen yogurt swirl. That’s why Uptown Dallas is the perfect launching pad for the newest trend from N.Y. and L.A. via Korea in health conscious indulgence, frozen yogurt, or FroGo, as served by Yogilicious. FroGo isn’t the sugary frozen yogurt you’ve been getting at the food court in the mall for over twenty years, but actual yogurt that happens to be a frozen treat. The stuff actually tastes like yogurt and contains enough live and active cultures to be certified by the National Yogurt Association. And the small size contains around 150 calories before toppings and depending on your flavor selection.

And Yogilicious does FroGo right. They call their store a “dessert lounge” that is “an oasis for dessert lovers with a healthy conscience”. Yogilicious has free Wi-Fi and Wii sports and is completely self serve. They have a full range of flavors from the traditional like Blueberry and Cookies-N-Cream to the adventurous like Green Tea and Taro, actually the second highest seller, and sampling is encouraged. If narrowing down your flavor choice isn’t difficult enough, Yogilicious’ toppings bar has just about everything you could fit in a cup. The fresh fruit section has eleven selections including strawberries, cantaloupes, mangos and pomegranates. The dry toppings section has choices as diverse as almonds and coconut flakes to Fruity Pebbles and gummy bears. And since it is self serve you don’t have to worry about any strange looks for adding as much and as many of anything you like. Just remember, you are charged by weight. But at 45 cents an ounce, feel free to go crazy.

So if you haven’t tried FroGo yet, what are you waiting for? Get on over to Yogilicious and jump on the bandwagon while there is still room.
