Okay, this morning the darlings at Daily Candy think you should attend tonight’s WDW, but dear readers, you know I’ve been telling you about Wine Down Wednesday since – oh – LAST YEAR…(AND it is Elkhart, ladies, not Elk Hart) though, I am pleased as punch that Dave Heidle and Matt Thompson are getting their props elsewhere ,considering they’ve been doing this since last summer, even if the DC darlings didn’t tell you that Dave and Matt are the heart, soul and brainchildren behind these events at Times Ten Cellars.

Now that my hissy fit is thrown, sorry, DC…I’m still chomping at the bit to tell you guys about the  big changes  afoot for Wine Down Wednesdays and Times Ten Cellars…but for now, my lips must remain sealed as per Dave’s request.

Tonight’s show kicks off at 7 with Matt Thompson -  who can best be described as folksy, soulful, acoustic rock with a little Crowded House thrown in for good measure.

Next up will be In The Irons -  Usually a pretty high energy, good ol’ rock band, I’m sure tonight’s performance in the intimacy of the Times Ten Cellars will see something beautifully pared down and fitting for the room’s casual, wine sippy atmosphere.

Finally, wrapping things up will be Travis Hopper’s new venture, Elkhart.These boys always please with their wickedly warm melodies coupled with heartbreaking lyrical details which lay comfortably couched into a mix of lush, evocative guitar-infused vocal soundscapes perfect for any cozy setting or a late night drive down a dusty road. Might make you hold the one you’re with just a bit tighter, too. Elkhart has been garnering a ton of press as of late, too. With great reviews from Delusions of Adequacy , Twangville, Bonafide Darling, Rootstime and Get Your Melancholy On, along with Honorable Mention for Top Local Album of the Year from Quick/Dallas Morning News. Hot off the heels of a showcase at House of Blues last Saturday, expect these Dallas boys to still be riding last weekend’s high – a sure bet for a fantastic set tonight.
