Okay, so yeah, I thought it was a little weird that Paws in the City sent me an email reminder for their Holiday Party. Weird because it was WRITTEN BY MICHAEL JACKSON. FROM HEAVEN.

But just when I thought this whole thing couldn’t get any more wheels off than it already was, I GET ANOTHER LETTER FROM MICHAEL JACKSON. Michael Jackson with his HEAD SUPERIMPOSED ON WARREN BEATTY’S BODY.

In this one he writes about moonflapping and hanging out with who I can only assume is God, or as the King of Pop calls him, Big Daddy G:

MJ back.  Some people didn’t believe that I’d end up here – but check out my publicity shot – I’ve earned my wings already!  Big Daddy G freaked when I did the moonflap.  Things are pretty cool here!

Biggie G is high on community service.  So I was first in line to help out Paws in the City from above. And from up here, I can see a lot.  Yes, there are still far too many cats and dogs that need homes.  No, we won’t be able to re-home every deserving animal in the Metroplex.  But we can make a difference and we are making a difference.  We’ll only fail when we when we lose our resolve to succeed.  And that won’t happen, ever.

We have so much to be thankful for this year.  Paws in the City has been very blessed with kind donations throughout the year, with fosters willing to house our animals awaiting adoption, and with volunteers willing to devote their free time to our adoption and fundraising events.  Several boarding facilities give us free spaces and reduced-cost spaces; many veterinarians give us discounted rates and free services.  Through your generosity, we were able to save several beautiful animals from distemper this year.  We saved many, many animals with heartworm and other diseases. We funded life saving amputations and surgeries.  We provided training for animals that need adjustments in behavior before they could be adopted.  All of this costs money. Paws can’t wait while the recession comes to an end – we have to act with whatever resources we can gather to save as many animals as we can afford.  And thanks to our many supporters, this year Paws will find homes for many more animals than ever before, despite the recession.  And next year, we’ll do even better.

The really cool thing is that you can save an animal’s life just by going to a party.  Paws funds almost 80% of their operating costs through parties given throughout the year.  And this party will be something really incredible.  Please start the holiday season off by joining us at the House of Blues on Thursday, November 19, from 6 -10PM.  Discounted tickets and table reservations can be purchased here; tickets will also be available at the door.

Peace and love,
~King of Pop~
