The average wedding today costs about $22,000. Why not save the money (and the hassle) by booking a San Antonio Texas wedding “on the fly” at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, where the resort’s carefully thought-out Elopement Package is the cure for all wedding woes?

Whether the bride is searching for a small, intimate wedding for 30 or envisions her big day with just the bride and groom in attendance, the resort has all the tiny details planned and ready so last-minute doesn’t have to be anything less than perfect.

The San Antonio resort’s new “Just the Two of Us” package features:

  • A ceremony at the Sunday House, a private two-story guest residence in the intimate gated back yard or front lawn
  • The officiate
  • 90 minutes of continuous photography coverage with one photographer
  • A bridal up-do and make-up application at the world class Windflower-The Hill Country Spa
  • A bridal bouquet in bride’s choice of colors and boutonnière for the groom
  • A wedding cake with matching floral topper
  • A Champagne toast and wedding coordination by the resorts in-house professional wedding specialist
  • A private epicurean dinner prepared by executive chef, Troy Knap, in the Sunday House dining room An overnight stay at Sunday House

The total cost is $4,200 plus tax, which, in my opinion is an absolute steal!

If a slightly larger ceremony is envisioned, the resort also offers an “Intimate Ceremony Elopement Package” for your San Antonio Texas wedding. This package is available for up to 18 guests, including the bride and groom. Included in the $1,500 fee is a spectacular outdoor ceremony at the iconic Lone Oak, overlooking the Hill Country Golf Course, as well as set-up of standard white resin chairs.

No matter the type of ceremony selected, the wedding professionals at the San Antonio resort can assist with any additional touches the bride has her heart set on.

For me, when it comes to mortadella and bresaola its Jimmy’s Food Store. Burrata and brie de nagis? It can only be Scardello. As for fresh seafood, look no further than TJ’s Fresh Seafood Market. In addition to TJ’s great seafood, they also offer some pretty cool merch, including that gorgeous tableware by VIETRI you’re always drooling over in Bon Appetit and and on Food Network.

And, oh my sweet Larry, have you seen the new VIETRI Bellezza Fish dinnerware collection? It is so pretty! I’m not normally one who likes motif-style dinnerware, but the muted colors and subtlety of shape would be perfect for a coastal home’s table or a formal, outdoor dinner party!

So I’m happy to report that TJ’s Seafood Market has announced a another VIETRI Trunk Show showcasing the Italian importer’s newest items lines and offering 20% off any VIETRI in the store! Woo-hoo!

TJ’s Fresh Seafood Market, a VIETRI Gold retailer, will showcase the newest VIETRI collections at their Fall 2010 Trunk Show on Wednesday, October 13th from 6-8pm, for discounts on all VIETRI purchases, as well as complimentary wine and hors d’oeurvers catered by TJ’s award-winning kitchen.

TJ’s will offer a 20% DISCOUNT on all VIETRI in-stock purchases the day of the Trunk Show, and a 10% DISCOUNT on special orders.

Need a private consultation to update your VIETRI collection? Starting a new one? Want to create a unique bridal registry? VIETRI experts will be on hand to help with all your VIETRI needs.

A while back I hit up The NYLO Hotel over in Plano for a staycation and had a blast.

Taking advantage of a package deal, we checked into our New York loft inspired funky urban room which featured a NYLO NYTE™ bed with custom bedding and free wired and wireless high-speed Internet access. Our room also sported a handheld rain shower head, exclusive NYLO amenities, free bottled water, coffee and tea, a large 32″ flat-screen HD LCD TV, pay-per-view movies and an iPod docking station.

After settling in, we were off to explore the hotel’s bar and restaurant. As we coursed through NYLO’s high polished concrete floors and exposed interiors and just off the entrance, found the restaurant, lounge and bar area. Packed with seating and tables designed for intimate gatherings and conversation, we also noticed the space had a relaxing patio courtyard with cool swing-style seating, a lap pool, lounge beds, and bar area with tables and chairs.  My companion and I remarked how perfect these areas would be for say a bachelor/bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, or wedding and reception.

Also as soon as we sat down, we were greeted by the hotel’s chef, Nick Amoriello, who joined us for a glass of wine. He made for a charming conversationalist and the food we enjoyed was incredible. Nick explained the dishes to us, how he found his was to Dallas – long story – and made sure our NYLO experience was top notch.

After a quick nap, we found our way back to the lounge later that night to discover that NYLO’s lounge literally turns into an outdoor nightclub on the weekends with DJ Julio, a piece of NYC in the heart of the Plano burbs!

If you’re a N. Texas local looking for a New York-inspired staycation, spa get away with the gals, romantic jaunt away from the kids, chic place to hold a business meeting or planning a girl’s night out, Best of Texas highly recommends NYLO Hotel and their great, budget-friendly getaway packages
